Although a recent graduate, I am not a typical new graduate. I was working such jobs as radio advertising sales, newspaper subscription sales, all of which enhanced my formal education.

I was looking for a job,i was checking on Yahoo! hot jobs! and I Found one that called my atention, the job title is Marketing assistent, it's for Westaff Inc, is a company tha work with advertising, marketing and public relationship, is located in Fort Lauderdale in Florida, USA, this job is perfect for me because i am going to graduate in that area, also they don't ask for many years of experience, but if you have it, you have more chances to get the position into the company.

hello! my name is Ricardo Chacon and this is my blog, I hope you can find interesting things here, I'm studying mass communication, advertising and public relations at URBE, I'm 22 years old, rigth now I live in Maracaibo, Venezuela, but when I finish my major
I want to move to Puerto Ordaz because my mom lives there.

I like to travel, one of my goals is to visit a lot of countries around the world, especially in Europe, I think that is a continent full of culture and history, also I wish to build my own bussiness and offer a service for people who need advertising.

A lot of people is promoted because of their personality and not for their skills, this is a truth in the world of business, being likeable is a new quality that people need to get something that they want, I think If you show yourself as you really are and you don’t hide things about you, then you could be a likable person, but the point is that a lot people couldn’t be agree with you because you’re personality for that there is a quality very interesting which you can put on practice: diplomacy, if you’re diplomatic with people many times you will like them.

Also we should know that it’s It's important to know that when you're working, you're living 8 hours daily away from home, and that's why your office becomes your second home, now it's very important to know that we're not the 8th wonder in the world and we must strive to be better people everyday and show the other ones around us that we're worth to know and maybe our boss will be likely to promote us. There're so many things that you should learn when going to a meeting, or an interview.

We must be humble at work and everyplace we go because people feel comfortable with those ones who make them feel better, funny people or just people they can feel very good as well.
To finish with my idea I think we must strive more in being sympathetic and smart.

1. Could you please define advertising in your own words?

Advertising is paid and/or sometimes free communication through a medium in which the sponsor is identified and the message is controlled, a lot of people use advertising for showing their products or servicies to the market.

2. What influenced you to pursue advertising?

i think, it was that in advertising I can express my imagination and I can help people who need a good plan of marketing, also wherever you see, always you will find advertising.

3. Could you please describe the educational process required to become an advertiser?

the educational process required to become an advertiser is studying ten semester in a university. during that time you will learn the basics skills and knowledge that you need for working in an agency.

4. What are the skills you need to be a good advertiser?

you must be very creative, like the marketing, know how to take choices, because every element in an advertising campaing has a reason why, everything has a specific objective to influence people.

5. What job considerations were you looking for after you completed your education?

i'm looking for building my own business or agency and become that, in an international agency.

6. What's something of your school life that you enjoy the most?

I enjoyed the way I spent my time with my friends.

7. from your perspective, what is the most difficult part of being an advertising student?

well, I think is the competition that exists among the students, because everybody want to be the best and try to do the best job, also we must to start for looking a job in the agencies because there are a lot people in this career and the field for working is not big.

8. What are your plans for the future?

I'm planning to move to Puerto Ordaz, is a city that have not competition as in Maracaibo, also my mom lives there, so I want to join her again.

9. Point out your most personally gratifying moment in advertising school.

it was the moment that I created a product and made some arts for it and my teacher like it.

10. Why would you recommend advertising as a career?

because it's an interesting career, if you like to create, show your ideas on advertising pieces or art, and a lo of people can see your work, that is so gratifying, because the publicity that you show has an effect on the society and you can help people in many ways using advertising.
